Bound States for Schrr Odinger Hamiltonians: Phase Space Methods and Applications

Properties of bound states for Schrr odinger operators are reviewed. These include: bounds on the number of bound states and on the moments of the energy levels, existence and nonexistence of bound states, phase space bounds and semi-classical results, the special case of central potentials, and applications of these bounds in quantum mechanics of many particle systems and dynamical systems. Fo...

Quantum codes give counterexamples to the unique preimage conjecture of the N-representability problem.

It is well known that the ground state energy of many-particle Hamiltonians involving only 2-body interactions can be obtained using constrained optimizations over density matrices which arise from reducing an N-particle state. While determining which 2-particle density matrices are "N-representable" is a computationally hard problem, all known extreme N-representable 2-particle reduced density...

The quantum N-body problem

This selective review is written as an introduction to the mathematical theory of the Schro ̈dinger equation for N particles. Characteristic for these systems are the cluster properties of the potential in configuration space, which are expressed in a simple geometric language. The methods developed over the last 40 years to deal with this primary aspect are described by giving full proofs of...

Matrix Hamiltonians with an algebraic guarantee of unbroken PT −symmetry

Although the quantum bound-state energies may be generated by the so called PT −symmetric Hamiltonians H = PH†P 6 = H where P is, typically, parity, the spectrum only remains real and observable (i.e., in the language of physics, the PT −symmetry remains unbroken) inside a domain D of couplings. We show that the boundary ∂D (i.e., certain stability and observability horizon formed by the Kato’s...

Reflection Positivity for Majoranas

We establish reflection positivity for Gibbs trace states defined by a certain class of Hamiltonians that describe the interaction of Majoranas on a lattice. These Hamiltonians may include many-body interactions, as long as the signs of the associated coupling constants satisfy certain restrictions. We show that reflection positivity holds on an even subalgebra of Majoranas.
